An Unconventional Challenge
The key to getting the community involved when doing something which requires immense participation, such as raising money for a fundraiser of yours, is to stand out. If you’re going to do something as simple as a 10K marathon, make sure you somehow stand out. You could wear an over the top costume which catches everyone’s attention or wear a shirt with an eye-catching statement on it and etc.….
There is no limit, there are countless ideas you can pick from and countless ones you can create, let your imagination go wild. Below is a list of ideas to help you create an unconventional challenge to get the community involved to help you raise money;
Ask a local restaurant or café to donate tips or a percentage of their sales for the night to your charity
Host a Concert or Pool Party:
There is no better way to get people out of their houses! People love nothing more than to dive into a pool of cold water on a hot summer’s day, or hang out with friends listening to music. Ask local performers and friends with resources to donate their services in kind. Raise money by charging a small entry fee
At a community library of yours, create a small-scale club in which members swap books. You can charge a small amount for the entry and/or per book exchanged.
