PSS- Workshops and Professional Staff Care

Here at Hestia Hellas, we value a holistic approach and making quality services available to those in need. This also includes aid workers and other types professionals who are on the other end of humanitarian service provision. We believe that by investing in staff support and professional development, we are doing our part in creating healthy work environment resulting in more satisfied and productive staff, who are in turn able to provide even more quality services to beneficiaries using effective tools and mechanisms.

To do our part, we have created an on-going workshop entitled: “Avoiding Burnout: Self Care for Service Providers” which has successfully been facilitated to many teams and professionals including  MSF, Caritas, and Network for Children’s Rights. Research showcases the importance and value of Staff care, Mindfulness and Organizational Psychology initiatives; and our workshop has gone on to assist in making effective changes in how personnel and teams are working in a healthier manner with less stress, healthier boundaries, coping mechanisms, and more patience for tackling on new challenges within the field.

Through this initiative, Hestia Hellas has taken an active part in filling a gap within our field, supporting our colleagues and ensuring higher quality services for the people we serve.
