Charilaou Trikoupi 5, 5th floor, Athens, Greece 106 78
In our facility, we have Clinical Rooms for PsychoSocial Support and a Child-Friendly Space for children to participate in our programs. We also have classrooms and Computer Rooms for Livelihood classes. On certain days of the week, we provide Food Distribution for beneficiaries to come and be fed while also communing with others.
Hestia’s Symperílipsi (Inclusion) addresses:
- inter-cultural dialogue
- cultural participation and participation in local public life
- labour market and economic inclusion
- literacy and language learning
- social empowerment
These are all done in a sustainable way by engaging immigrants/refugees at every level of need and providing crucial services which are facilitated by Greek citizens. In the course of intake and service delivery, Hestia’s staff begin the process of inter-cultural dialogue and introduction to Greek society with referrals to other service providers and encouraging new arrivals to attend public arts and entertainment events.
With respect to labour market and economic inclusion, literacy and language learning, one of Hestia’s core programs is our Livelihoods initiative serving up to 150 women and 200 children daily with classes in computer technology, embroidery and sewing, and languages.
In a welcoming and supportive environment immigrants/refugees are empowered with language/literacy skills and economic self-support skills.
